Peterson Sewing School owners and founders, James and Barbara Peterson dreamed of starting a business together when they first married.
James, a native of Warren, Ohio and a retired Navy Seabee has traveled the world over. During his military travels, and being a stylish man in his own right, discovered his love of fashion while on deployment in Spain, Puerto Rico, Guam, Okinawa and mainland Japan.
James picked up his love of fabrics as a child from his mother, Martha Peterson and his grandmother Essie Bennett, both were avid quilters.
Barbara, a native of Syracuse NY, states she was born with fashion on her mind. Barbara says her love of sewing and fashion came to her honestly: her middle name 'Flaxina' means linen. Flaxina is a derivative of Flaxie, (Jefferson) her maternal grandmother's name. Her paternal grandmother, Mary Merrick, was an avid knitter and seamstress who also quilted and crocheted. Barbara's paternal aunt, Catherine Burns is a seamstress as well as an accomplished knitter. Catherine has won numerous awards for her crocheting and knitting.

OUR PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, today we ask You to please grant us wisdom in every decision, guide us in all of our transactions and give us knowledge and understanding in all of our dealings as they pertain to our business.
Keep us Father, from being deceived into transactions that do not honor Your Word, and set our hearts to walk in integrity. You have taught us the only way to prosperity is through purity in our motives. We conduct our business according to Your Word and commit ourselves to right action.
Help us to turn away from all temptations of reaching prosperity by ignoring the needs of others. We pray that we never become so engulfed with our work that we forget that our primary purpose is to honor and glorify You and to minister to our family and everyone around us. We thank You Father, for the supernatural strength working in us through You that overcomes everything.
Finally Father, we thank You for blessing our business.
We know that as we put You first in every area of our lives and our profession, we stand in a covenant relationship with You. We are your children. Because we are partners with You and co-heirs with Christ Jesus, we expect the windows of opportunity to open up to our business and Your great blessings to break forth in our lives. Then we can and will bless others and give toward the preaching and teaching of Your Word.
Thank You for helping us experience You and the ability to see this great truth! Amen.
